He was operational during the Battle of Britain and crewed with Sgt's Walker and Vale.

Update 2020: "I am currently transcribing my Father’s diaries from 1933-1950. Leonard Archer is in them….He was born in Nottingham in c 1908, where his father was a cycle enamel sprayer, probably at Raleigh works in Nottingham. He worked at Boots Pure Drug Co as assistant to E L Clark, the personnel manager, marrying Harriet Wardle in 1936. After the war, he returned to Boots and remained in the personnel department, eventually becoming personnel manager and a main board Director of Boots in 1962. Awarded OBE in 1975, probably for voluntary work or on retirement. Boots was a vast manfacturing empire in the late 1950s and 60s as well as running stores and chemists shops. He lived in Nottingham.
